The Nacre project concerns the development, design and construction of a 2G bioethanol production unit from biomass and lignocellulosic agricultural waste. The project, located in the southwest of France, is led by a consortium of major industrial and financial players. Based on Futurol® technology developed by IFP Energies nouvelles and marketed by Axens, the Nacre biorefinery aims to accelerate the decarbonization of transport. The manufacturing process will also generate several valuable co-products: biomethane, lignin and CO2 which will also support the decarbonization of the industry.
